Could I get a few people to explain the difference in pronunciation between a, á, ã, â and à in Portuguese using English comparisons (if possible)? I can't seem to find a thread or other Web site that addresses them each clearly. Thanks!

How difficult is it to learn Portuguese as an English speaker?
Is Portuguese grammatically any harder than Spanish? All I know is that European Portuguese is generally considered to be harder to pronounce than Spanish. I primarily want to learn European Portuguese, however, it seems to bulk of the material available is for Brazilian Portuguese - how much of a barrier would this be for conversing in Portugal?
